Seven virus prevention tips!

Preventing virus infections costs a lot less than eliminating them once you're infected. Therefore, we decided to provide you with the following seven tips that will help you prevent viruses.

1. If you receive any files attached to an email from an unknown or suspicious source, don’t open them.
2. If someone you know sends you files attached to an email message, don’t open the files unless you know what they are and/or you’re expecting the files. 
3. If the subject line of an email is in question, don’t open any attached files. 
4. Any time you receive junk email and/or chain emails, don’t forward them on and never reply to them. You should delete them as soon as they arrive.
5. When downloading files from the Internet, make sure that the site/source you’re downloading from is legitimate and trusted. If you’re not sure, don’t download the file or download the file to a floppy disk and check for viruses with your own anti-virus software. 
6. Continuously update your anti-virus software on a regular basis. There are 500+ viruses uncovered each month, which means it’s critical to keep your virus protection software updated. 
7. Back up your files on a regularly scheduled basis. If you do get infected and the virus corrupts your files, you’ll be able to recover some if not all your data. Make sure you store your back up files in a separate location from your computer. A removable hard drive or CD ROM will work fine.

If you’ve ever wondered who to contact at CyberLynk about a specific question or issue, you need not wonder any more.

Listed below are our key email addresses and a description of how to use each one of them.

sales@cyberlynk.net  - This address can be used for sales related questions and issues including new and existing services, pricing, etc.

billing@cyberlynk.net  - Use this email address if you want to add, change, or cancel a service. Also use it for any questions you have relating to your bill.

support@cyberlynk.net  - Anyone who is having web site configuration issues, mail server management or mailbox creation issues, client software configuration problems, or trouble accessing your dial-up service should use this email address. 

dnsadmin@cyberlynk.net  - Use this email address if you have DNS issues including domain name registration, changes in IP addressing, forward and reverse mapping of a domain, etc.

noc@cyberlynk.net  - Network Operations Center – Use this email address for anything to do with our network or your connection to our network. This includes your leased line trouble reports, service questions, or routing issues.

abuse@cyberlynk.net  - Network Abuse – This address can be used for issues regarding SPAM (not our SPAM filtering service), denial of service, harassment, etc., originating from within our network. Include your E-mail address, daytime phone number, and complete information on the offense being reported.
